At Aussie Pest Strike, we stand behind our work. This page explains, in plain English, what our service warranty covers, what it doesn’t, and how to make a claim. Our warranty sits alongside your rights under Australian Consumer Law — it adds to those rights and never replaces them.
Our 12-Month Pest-Free Warranty
Every general pest treatment we complete comes with a 12-month pest-free warranty. This applies to common household pests such as cockroaches, ants, spiders, and silverfish treated during a standard service.
If covered pests return to the treated areas within 12 months of your service, we’ll come back and re-treat those areas at no cost to you. That’s our promise: if pests return, we return — free.
8-Year Termite Barrier Protection
When we install a termite barrier system around your home, it’s backed by an 8-year protection warranty. This is one of the strongest warranties in the Australian pest control industry.
Important condition: To keep your 8-year termite warranty valid, you must have an annual termite inspection carried out by Aussie Pest Strike or another licensed pest manager. Termites are persistent, and Australian Standard AS 3660 recommends yearly inspections for all homes with barrier systems. If annual inspections lapse, the warranty may be voided — so we recommend booking your inspection at the same time each year.
What “If Pests Return, We Return — Free” Means in Practice
Here’s exactly what happens if you spot covered pests after treatment:
- Contact us by phone or email and describe what you’re seeing.
- We’ll arrange a free re-inspection of your property, usually within a few business days.
- If the pests are covered under your warranty, we re-treat the affected areas at no charge — no callout fee, no labour cost, no product cost.
- If the issue turns out to be something not covered (see below), we’ll explain why and give you a fair quote for any additional work before we start.
There’s no limit on the number of legitimate warranty callouts during your warranty period. We’d rather come back and fix the problem than have you live with pests.
What Is NOT Covered
To be fair and transparent, some situations fall outside the warranty. These include:
- New infestations caused by structural changes — renovations, extensions, plumbing work, or landscaping that disturbs treated zones or termite barriers can create new entry points. If the barrier is breached by building work, the affected area needs re-treatment, which is quoted separately.
- Untreated adjacent areas — the warranty covers the areas we actually treated. If pests spread from a neighbouring property, an untreated shed, or a section of the home you asked us to skip, that re-infestation isn’t covered.
- Hygiene-related re-infestation — ongoing issues like uncovered food waste, pet food left out, or significant clutter can attract pests back no matter how thorough the treatment. We’ll always point out hygiene factors during our visit so you know what to watch for.
- Pests not included in the original treatment — for example, a general pest treatment doesn’t automatically cover termites, rodents, or bed bugs unless they were part of your service agreement.
If we’re ever unsure whether something is covered, we’ll inspect first and discuss it with you openly before any charges apply.
How to Make a Warranty Claim
Making a claim is simple:
- Call us on 02 7235 0050 during business hours, or
- Email us at info@aussiepeststrike.com with your name, address, original service date, and a description of the problem (photos help, but aren’t required).
Keep your original service receipt or invoice handy — it confirms your warranty start date and the areas treated. If you’ve misplaced it, don’t worry; we keep records of every job and can look you up.
Response Time for Warranty Callouts
We aim to attend all warranty callouts within 3 to 5 business days of your claim. For urgent situations — such as signs of termite activity in a home under our barrier warranty — we prioritise the visit and will usually attend within 1 to 2 business days.
During peak season (spring and summer), response times can occasionally stretch a little, but we’ll always give you a clear timeframe when you book, and we’ll keep you updated if anything changes.
Selling Your Home? The Warranty Transfers
Both the 12-month pest-free warranty and the 8-year termite barrier warranty are transferable to the new owner if you sell your property. This can be a genuine selling point — buyers value documented termite protection.
To transfer the warranty, the new owner simply needs to contact us with the property address and settlement date so we can update our records. For termite barrier warranties, the annual inspection condition carries over to the new owner, so it’s worth mentioning this in your sale paperwork.
Your Consumer Rights
Our warranty is in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Services must be provided with due care and skill, and if they aren’t, you’re entitled to a remedy. Nothing on this page limits those rights.
